Bridging Pathways: Insights from the PROWD Annual Grantee Meeting
In June, members of our Star Cypress Partners team attended the Partners for Reentry Opportunities in Workforce Development (PROWD) Annual Grantee Meeting in Dallas, Texas.
The PROWD Annual Grantee Meeting was an exciting time and opportunity for SCP, our Department of Labor (DOL) clients, and Grantees in attendance. There were sessions offered to participants regarding the impact of government funding and programming on the prison systems and recidivism that helped to inform, shape, and bridge the resource gaps. Facilitators provided great insight to ensure that programs are equipped with proper tools and information as they navigate advocating for more reentry benefits and increased outcome on a national level.
"This week’s conference was a great opportunity to interface with PROWD Grantees, as well as our DOL clients. This was my first chance to meet them face to face and get to know more about the program's process. I look forward to what’s to come as the partnership grows," said Paul Brown, Manager at Star Cypress Partners.
Overall, the meeting provided great opportunities for networking and collaboration between stakeholders in attendance. Star Cypress Partners is committed to work with the Department of Labor and the Department of Justice to cultivate and provide support to a network of employers who hire individuals returning from incarceration.
